It's called "Independent." Variety is reporting that together Myspace and Mark Burnett are assembling what will begin as an online project and result in a TV show to find the next "Political Idol," of you will. The project will be formulated to take advantage of MySpace's ability to act as a virtual and interactive town hall. And Naturally, there will be a cash prize of $1,000,000. I believe this is a majorly important step in illustrating precisely how efficient and effective the Internet can be in the world of politics. The web is proving more and more to be a true cross-section of interested individuals and less and less as a haven for the disenfranchised. And in today's society, nothing spells legitamacy like reality TV!
