Alan Keyes Officially Enters Presidential Race

In a move that could only be an effort to make the debates even more entertaining than they already are, Alan Keyes officially filed his candidacy forms yesterday. It appears that the other candidates lack moral courage and he will now be raising the standard. It should be no sweat given that Dr. Keyes is up against drag queens, d-list actors, money launderers and $400 haircuts. Read the press release here.

I think folks don't care because either they do not want to live by a higher standard....because of lack of courage or their own mistakes/needs/shallow wants OR because they feel powerless against the privileged political establishment which is driven by $$$$$$$. Either way we lose and have been losing for a long time. Don't worry the end of fossil fuel supplies will get everones' attention...when comfort and excess go in America that is when you will see a real citizen revolt. In the meantime we have to listen to more lies from both the Dems and Republicans....hypocrisy is alive and well on both sides with no end in sight. As usual the truth tellers get the shaft because they scare the hell out of the status quo..........complacency will win for sure. Go ahead everyone....keep voting the party line without any good reason.....except to further pull us down.

Mary is wise...i agree with her. Its a tough political landscape out there for the common person to get enthused with. We have to keep encouraging eachother....to stay involved, keep thinking and evaluating...yes, people (and much of our goverment) is driven by money, but we're naive if we dont understand, recognize and move forward beyond that.

How do we move on, A? I agree with you, we must stay involved and encourage and support one another and do the things in our communities that do make a difference....not sure if naive is the word...I think people do have some understanding of the situation (we need to get more of the truth out) but are disheartened and discouraged to the point that it is going to take something really catastrophic in a long lasting way to make a difference...and that something has to directly affect everyone to make any kind of positive impact/change...I am generally a positive person, but as of late have had a hard time keeping the smile on and fighting my usual fights(though am still trying)...I am not giving up. The only way we can move on from politics driven by $$$$ is to drastically change how government and campaigns/elections are run...
